Dane Pedersen

About

Dane Pedersen is a singer, songwriter, and actor from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He has been performing since the age of eight, when he sang Stan Rogers' "The Idiot" at his elementary school talent show. In the time since, he has performed in a wide range of capacities and settings in Cape Breton, from coffeehouse fundraisers to professional theatrical productions.

Currently in his fourth year of a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, where he is majoring in vocal studies, Dane is becoming a regular on the Cape Breton and Antigonish music scenes.  However, he has been able to make regular appearances on the stage of the Highland Arts Theatre in Sydney, most recently in A Tribute to the Rotary Show (2023), and The Sea Shanty (2023).

It is obvious to all who listen that Dane's love for the folk music that he grew up with runs deep, and in his own performances he strives to uphold and continue the East Coast tradition of storytelling through song.
